The design of this interior stems from the desire to enhance the history and spirit of the apartment, restoring a formal connection between contemporary elements and the 1930s; the tension and dialogue between these components define the character of the intervention.

The choice of materials and color palette arises from the intention to engage in dialogue with the existing flooring throughout the apartment; only the floors of the two bathrooms and the laundry room have been renewed.

The bedroom distribution hallway is entirely wrapped in a second skin: a white reeded built-in cabinetry system creates a filter between the living area and the sleeping quarters.
The dialogue between the new contemporary home and the building’s history is most evident in the living room. The living room thus becomes the visual expression of this process of historical enhancement: the iconic ceiling decorated with a lozenge motif, the choice of bronzed handles, the symmetry of the room, the feature wall, and the Canaletto walnut finish all evoke the Milanese interiors of the past.
